Picking Wildflowers

I went on a run this morning up into the woods above my house. It's one of my favorite places around here to run (and one of the most challenging too). I was about halfway finished with my run when I began to notice a large variety of flowers along the path. I kept looking at them all the way until I reached my house and I knew what I had to do when this evening came around.

After dinner tonight I took off up the hill with my camera and a pair of scissors. I walked the path for about an hour just taking in every little detail of the path as I possibly could. I gathered up a handful of various flowers and made it home just before a storm came.

All you need is a mason jar, a skeleton key, a pinecone, a piece of string, and a bunch pretty flowers.

Take the skeleton key and put it around the jar with the string. Then take the pinecone and place it into the jar, then fill the jar with water. Take your flowers and arrange them in the jar any way that you want.

You can use this as a centerpiece for your summer picnic or just for an everyday display of positive vibes.

It's impossible to be down when you have a bright display of fresh flowers around you. Get out there and see what kind of flowers you can find to make your own flower jar!
