This past Wednesday was my 24th birthday!
I had such a good day. Initially I thought it would be a typical day. Wake up, yoga, work, and back home to do regular life things. But that didn't turn out to be the case!
My manager offered to let me take the day off (which was so nice omg) and on Monday I told him no it was okay and I could work. But then I went home on Monday night and was like nope don’t want to work. I’ve been wanting to take Roxy to the beach for the longest time and I was planning on doing so this weekend. I wanted to go to the actual ocean which is about a 7 hour drive from here. I was looking into hotels and stuff and it was a struggle finding some place that allows dogs over 50 pounds and without breed restrictions. My mom mentioned taking her to Lake Erie which is only a couple hour drive and something I could easily do in a day. I checked the weather and the only nice day was supposed to me on my birthday. It was supposed to be perfect so I went to work on Tuesday and asked if I could actually take yesterday off and explained my reasoning. He said it was fine so I went!
My mom and sister were able to join me. We loaded up the doggies and off we went!
We stopped at a super cute juice bar, The Juice Jar, on the way there that I am now obsessed with. It was absolutely adorable inside and out. The prices were great and the options were even better! I got pumpkin chili and a green juice that I took with me to go because we planned to eat at the beach. I definitely need to get back there though and try it out again.
*adds it to my list*
We then headed to the beach. It was such a nice day. It was about 65 degrees, blue skies, and tons of space to do as we please without being interrupted or interrupting others.
Roxy was afraid of the waves at first but quickly got okay with them. After she realized that they weren't going to swallow her up she started splashing around and biting at them. So cute!
I found so many seashells, better than the ones that I found at the ocean! I always gather up as many cool shells as possible but I never know what to do with them once I get them home. Looks like I'm going to have to take a journey to Pinterest after I finish typing this and see what I can come across!
We spent a few hours hanging out at the beach and enjoying the afternoon before we realized that we didn't bring any towels to dry the dogs off with. Whoops! We got them out of the water and tried to have them dry off the best that we could. But I'm sure you can imagine how that went! We packed everything up, loaded everyone in the car, and went on our way. I really didn't want to leave. It was one of those times where you know it's a special time and you want to capture it as much as possible and just save it in your pocket. All things must come to an end though and since it did I've just taken away everything that I possibly could from it.
