Calming Lavender Blueberry Smoothie - Vegan

Today we're talking all about relieving some stress and anxiety out of our lives. I think we can all benefit from practicing a bit more at finding different ways to calm ourselves down during times of high stress and anxiety.

I recently received a variety of doTERRA essential oils to try. Before getting in contact with the lovely people of doTERRA, I wasn't too familiar with essential oils. I've spent some time learning more about the oils that I received and have realized that there are so many amazing benefits to incorporating essentials into your life. Essential oils are oils naturally extracted from a wide variety of plants provided to us from the Earth. They are much cheaper, effective, and natural than standard pharmaceutical medicine. You know that I love that!

Lately my "real job" has been stressing me out a bit more than necessary. My hamstring has been injured for over a month now (I'm going crazy here!!) so I haven't been able to do my regular yoga practice that usually helps me center myself and calm down a bit. I grabbed my oils and figured that I could add them to my smoothies to receive the benefits from the oil, plus have an awesome tasting drink. It's a win, win! Today we're using lavender, yesss. Combining lavender and blueberries makes me want to sit in a field on a warm sunny day and sip this smoothie. Once the snow goes away I'm going to make that a reality. But until then, let's just sip on this calming smoothie wherever nature allows us.

Calming Lavender Blueberry Smoothie

serves 1

2 bananas
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon oats
1 drop doTERRA lavender oil

Blend together all ingredients. Serve, enjoy!
