Coming at you today with week 3 of my gratitude project! This week flew by and I enjoyed the whole entire process. Feeling very grateful and positive about this experience and the fact that I'm giving myself the opportunity to look back and reflect on little bits of happiness from each day.
I highly recommend starting a little gratitude project of your own! I'm not even very far into mine but each week I like to look back and reflect on the past weeks worth of little bits of happiness. It really does wonders for creating a positive mindset and overall a happy life!
DAY 16
Not a typical meal for me at all but a very delicious one! Today Darrin and I got dinner at Double Wide Grill, we went shopping around a few other places, and got the best cupcake from whole foods 🍰 OH and I accidentally at cheese at lunch 😐😐😐 which has never happened to me before and I am not grateful for that experience but wanted to share anyways. Haha. Minus that though everything else was great and I love being able to spend weekends like this!
DAY 17
During my yoga practice today there was a little lady bug on my mat 🐞 It was there the whole duration of my practice. I tried to move it a few times but it wouldn't crawl onto my finger so I left it be. As I flowed I was cautious of the bug because I didn't want to hurt it. I was present in the moment of practice. I didn't want to hurt the little friend who decided to hang out with me for 40+ minutes today. I walked away realizing how many times I spend my days feeing rushed and not so present. That little bug was there to teach me to tune back into my awareness more often and focus on the task at hand instead of looking so much into the past or the future. I think that's a little reminder that we can all use every so often.
DAY 18
Honesty time ⏰ I totally didn't think about this gratitude project at all today until I was getting ready for bed. It somehow slipped my mind! I've been so busy. I woke up, went to the gym, went to work where I stayed late and was super busy all day. After that I came home, did yoga, ate, wrote a post for the blog, edited a video, and got ready for bed. Today I am grateful for my drive and motivation to work hard. I didn't want to write a post or edit the video I did. I wanted to watch YouTube videos and lay around all night. But I didn't do that and I'm so glad. I have goals to reach and things to create. That is most important to me and I remind myself of that each day. I spend my free time creating things that bring me the most joy in hopes that someday I will be able to support myself financially with the content that I create through hard work and passion.
DAY 19
Tonight I cooked dinner with Darrin and it was so good! I didn't write down a recipe of course but I want to try to recreate it again soon. We don't get to cook or eat dinner together often because of conflicting schedules but that just makes nights like tonight special.
DAY 20
I had a good workout today, followed by a good day at work, and then an even better trip to the grocery store. I went to grab one thing that wasn't even for me and ended up walking out with way more than expected 😳 How does that always happen?! But I mean, this chocolate was on sale for $1.30 each and the Suja was like $2.50 so how could I pass that up?! Chocolate and green juice = balance 😉 I have a slight chocolate obsession lately. My chocolate stash is pretty impressive now and I love that I just keep adding to it. I only eat a tiny bit at a time (because that's all I really desire) so a bar will last me quite a while. It's fun to stock up on all different flavors and varieties. 🍫 The perfect snack for the drive home today!
This morning I had the gym to myself which was such a good way to start off the day. I love that I'm able to get myself to bed early enough to wake up and get my workouts finished before 6:30 a.m. I never thought I could do it because I used to hate mornings. But here I am, and I'm loving it.
DAY 22
I had an awesome leg workout this morning followed by a pretty laid back day. Tonight Darrin and I went to eat and stuff and had to drive home in the snow. Leaving his house I was nervous about a few of the hills I had to go on and he followed me to the place where I felt comfortable with the roads. So grateful to have someone who cares enough to do that. Also grateful that I'm now home and laying in my warm bed and don't have to move from this spot!
That's it for this week! Can't wait to share more of these little posts of happiness throughout the rest of this year.
