Turn the Ship Around
Do you ever find yourself turning away from the thing you need at the time you need it the most?
That’s been me with yoga basically this entire year.
I’ve been practicing yoga for about 8 years and up until this year that practice has been consistent. I’m talking at least 30 minutes a day, every. single. day.
I fell off the wagon big time this year and I honestly couldn’t tell you why. I want to do yoga but there is something that makes that want feel less strong than the other things that I prioritize. Which in turn means that I don’t end up doing it.
They say that the pain of the situation has to be greater than the pain of avoidance before change happens, and that is very true.
I am finally at a point where I am over it. I’m over myself being this way, being completely avoidant of my yoga practice and caring for my body in that way. Done, done, done.
September is a month of great change for me. How do I know that? I know that because I decide it is true. And so it is.
My life is going to look completely different on October 1st than it did on September 1st. We still have 3.5 months left of 2019, and if you’re like me and things haven’t been as you imagined thus far then it’s time to turn that ship in the right direction, my friend. We can do it once we decide that we can do it, and today I decide to take the steps towards making that reality.
Here’s to a commitment to myself to practice more yoga and to take care of my body in that way. After all, our internal environment reflects our outer circumstances.
Call to action: take a few minutes today to think about what this means for your life. Is there a way that you can turn your ship into the direction you want to go? Have you been wanting to do something but just haven’t made it a priority for whatever reason? It’s only September 10th. We still have 20 days to spark great change in our lives this month. Let’s do it!
If you feel called to, let me know what you’re going to focus on so that we can root for each other!
